sam dollimore | Put That Away, It's Disgusting

Sam Dollimore's art practice searches for alternative expressions of psychosensual liberation.

The work is driven by the belief that this incarnate machinery in which we exist must be able to reclaim itself in defiance of restrictive value systems.  Sam's work seeks to navigate the experience of body and psyche through the repetitive exploration of its shame, discomfort and anxiety.

For Sam, the making process is both a physical and mental search for non-rational spaces of alternative embodiment.

The work celebrates the body as transgressive, and ponders the question of where a deeper self might emerge, triumphant and transcendent.
