sam dollimore's art practice searches for alternative expressions of psychosensual liberation.
her work is driven by the belief that our incarnate machinery must be able to reclaim itself in defiance of restrictive value systems. sam seeks to navigate the experience of body and psyche through the repetitive exploration of its shame, discomfort and anxiety.
for sam, the making process is both a physical and metaphysical search for alternative, non-rational spaces and embodiment.
The work celebrates the body as transgressive, and ponders the question of where a deeper self might emerge, triumphant and transcendent.
